Each 5 ml contains:
Milk of Megnesia I.P............. 3.75 ml
Liquid Paraffin I.P………....… 1.25 ml
Sodium Picosulphate I.P...... 3.33 mg
Flavoured Syrup Base........... Q.S.
Vareffine Plus suspension is a combination of three laxatives: Sodium picosulfate, liquid paraffin and milk of magnesia which relieve constipation.
Sodium picosulfate is a stimulant laxative which increases peristalsis (the wave-like movement of the intestines) to push the stools forward.
Liquid paraffin is a lubricant laxative which helps retain water and fat in the stools.
Milk of magnesia is an osmotic laxative which works by drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, making the stools soft. Together, they make stools easier to pass.
Sodium Picosulfate, liquid paraffin, Milk of Magnesia is used in the treatment of constipation.
Vareffin Plus Suspension is serves in various conditions. It is prescribed for the following:
- Constipation
- Painful conditions of the anus
- Painful conditions of rectum
- Temporary relief of constipation
- Stomach acid
- Increases water in the intestines
- Emptying the bowel before colonoscopy

It is best taken at bedtime preferably with water.
Hypersensitivity to Vareffin Plus Suspension is a contraindication. In addition, Vareffin Plus Suspension should not be used if you have the following conditions:
- Allergic reactions
- Children aged below 10 years
- First trimester of pregnancy
- Hypersensitivity
- Intestinal obstruction
